Air Fryer Tilapia Perfection 🐟

I took a break from my blog, but my recent joy over my newly upgraded air fryer got me back to my keyboard so I could share my perfectly-cooked Tilapia glee!  I am just LOVING my NEW Philips XL Avance Air Fryer. Recently, I cooked fish to Tilapia Perfection! I also purchased the grill pan attachment & it added beautiful grill lines that were absent in my other air fryer.   This post is my easy recipe for juicy, grilled, perfect, light & just-like-a-restuarant-fish!  It came out so delicious, that it seriously made me want to immediately run out to the store for another .50 oz piece to air fry!

😃Easy cooking is my preference. Sometimes, I get creative, sometimes, I just want super-simple. I have tried fish many times in my other Air Fryer (a Farberware) but never got it this juicy or perfect.

👍This was just ‘spray the pan’ ‘spray & season the fish’ and cook in the air fryer.

Yum & Fun! 🐟🐟🐟

The fish didn’t stick to the grill pan & it was very easy to clean.  I love that I get real grill marks on my proteins now. My old Farberware Air Fryer was only a basket, and it had holes in it so my meats (although they were cooked beautifully) looked like they had polka dots on them, so this is a lovely change…after all, we do eat with our eyes first, right? This grill pan goes in the dishwasher or can be washed with soap & water.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 pieces of fresh tilapia (I had .50 ounce)
  • McCormick Salt-Free Garlic & Herb seasoning
  • Canola Oil Spray (I like Trader Joe’s)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 390.
  2. Spray bottom of basket or air fryer grill pan with 1 spray of canola oil.
  3. Add piece of Tilapia.
  4. Spray Top with 2 more sprays.
  5. Add seasonings.
  6. Cook in air fryer for 10 minutes at 390. (Every air fryer is different, so get to know your own unit for how it cooks).
  7. Let rest in air fryer for 1-2 minutes. Perfection!

🔵 Weight Watchers SmartPoints (sp) Info:  My piece came out to 2sp!  Perfect with 1sp of air fryer butternut squash. Always calculate your own sp in recipe builder. I need to try this again with a frozen piece. Frozen items do well in an air fryer, too.

IMO: Air fryers are really ‘Air Crispers’. You use a small amount of oil (brushed or spray) and you get super juicy food. It is a convection oven. I call it a Easy Bake oven for adults. You just get to know what works at what temperature, but most items are at 360 or 390.

What exciting things have YOU made in your air fryer lately?  I look forward to writing more on my blog in the coming weeks.  Happy Fall!

I lost almost 50 pounds in 2016 (and I am still an active Weight Watchers Member) and I feel great…and this feeling is not about what I lost, it is about all the perspective I have gained. My journey is always evolving, so I decided that blogging about it would be a great way to share the joy. Writing about my journey keeps me mindful! Thanks for coming along! Live Life Mindfully</p>
