Coffee Menu: Affogato Coffee Drink (Coffee with Ice Cream) ☕️🍦

Mmmm. ☕️🍦Sometimes I just want a fancy coffee dessert drink! This week, I created my own Affogato (coffee with ice cream) at home for my usual 3 SmartPoints I reserve for my daily coffee.

🌴 🚢 I typically enjoy this on vacation, but I wanted to make something different for myself at home. You can save points by using a lower calorie ice cream (Halo Top or Enlightened brands are good).

👍😊I prefer the real deal as I cannot have artificial sweeteners, but ice cream is really high in points. Once in a while, I buy a teeny tiny 5.8 oz container of this Edy’s Slow Churned Vanilla Bean ice cream. It has half the fat because they use skim milk, but it has real sugar and buttermilk in it for taste! The whole little thing is still 7sp, but I cannot be trusted with even a pint of ice cream in the house. The tiny serving sizes available totally save me. I am a big believer in the ‘Don’t Bring It Home’ or ‘Only fight with yourself once…at the store’ methods.

☕️🍦So, I use grams to measure out exactly 46 grams (1 & 5/8 oz) of ice cream (3sp) & them pour 1-2 shots of espresso directly on top. I like to add a pinch of cinnamon as well because it just seems to complete this delicious dessert drink. You can use a small amount of freshly brewed stronger coffee as well.

➡️Sip slowly and enjoy! This is a great chance to practice the skill of ‘mindful eating’.

💕Affogato is also the Perfect Valentines Day treat to yourself or perfect to make for a friend & yourself. 💕Making this at home helps me better at guessimating when I am out of the house, too! Adding fun dessert drinks to your own personal coffee menu is a fun way to keep things interesting & fun at home

🤔If I am tight on points, 1 ounce of ice cream will do, but…if I am having it, I am having it! Ya know?!? 🤣🤣🤣
